Glad you reminded us of this, Barry, as it may be helpful with many topics concerning Irv Athearn to imagine a parallel universe . . . and likely over in that universe, the tunnel motors have to rotate in the opposite direction to ours, in order to keep tunnels from closing up under the Coriolis effect. The latter, of course, is well documented in the archives of the Espee list.
