Thanks, but the confusion stems from the fact that the cars themselves have 36'-10"
stenciled on the sidesills. Trying to determine

1. Where the dimension is measured from
2. Which dimension is correct for those points

in an effort to do drawings and ultimately scratchbuild the things.
