NAH - in fact, I refer to early brass "air hoses" as "guitar strings"
with a very negative connotation. I've made lagged piping using
threading dies that look like a 3 jaw collet with a ring on them and
reduce the opening by slipping on a smaller ring then running a whole
length of brass rod/wire thru it.
