G&F as in Georgia & Florida? If so, I'd be very interested in finding more
on this, as the Ga&Fla is a direct connection with the P&N... and I've
been contemplating including a little bit of Ga&Fla operations into my
scope of modelling.

MKT, TH&B, Muncie & Western -- yellow box cars. Some GN plywood cars.
Aluminum box cars. Green box cars -- C&IM, G&F. The black C&O box cars
came later than 1951. CMStP&O (CMO) had the yellow & green rebuilds.
The B&O Sentinel cars went offline, as did PRR Merchandise box cars. The
Monon and D&M had some light gray box cars.

The post about the blue NYC boxcars got me to thinking... I know about
those, and about the green EJ&E boxcars, and heard of a black C&O
boxcar... but when were the earliest regular/semi-regular (i.e. more
than
a single experimental car) boxcars painted in something other than some
variant of "boxcar red" for general use, as opposed to
online-only/LCL/express goods service? Were there many such around in
1951?
