While not related to box shook, the research I have been doing on the
Yakima Valley Transportation Co. shows a lot of inbound shipments
of "Lug Boxes" from various locations in the Pacific Northwest and
California. According to correspondence these were owned by mostly
canners and were returned loaded with apples, pears, peaches and
other fruit grown along the YVT.

Anybody have the size of a lug box?
