Do you have possession or can you tell me where I find diagrams for these
cars? I am looking for roof detail as well as sides and underframe if
available. As far as pictures do you know how I contact the owner of such
prints you mentioned?
I got the 10000 Series info out of the book "Cabooses of the N&W" by Bob
Bowers and Jim Brewer. Their writings list the cars out of the 10000 series
built from 1936 to 1944 which is a little before and during W.W.II. Are we
still talking/typing about the same cabeese????????????
Since these cars had cut outs in the ends of the old boxcars, that is why I
was searching for a kit that already represented the cars of the series, I
do not feel it should be to hard to model. With some Kappler Scale Wood for
the sides and some prefabricated ends no problem. Any idea of the part
number for the overland model?

OTHER VARIATION REPRESENTED THE REMAINDER OF THE 1300 SERIES WHICH HAD
STEPS
LIKE FOUND ON STEAM LOCOMOTIVE TENDERS. OVERLAND MODELED THE FISHBELLY
UNDERFRAME AND THE AB BRAKE SYSTEM ON BOTH CARS, BUT THAT IS ALL THE
DETAIL
THERE IS UNDER THERE.

CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ON THE NKP 10000 SERIES BOXCARS FROM WHICH THEY WERE
CONVERTED, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE JUST ABOUT AS EASY TO
SCRATCHBUILD
VS. A KIT MODIFICATION.

THE NKP PAINTED MOST OF THEIR WOOD CABOOSE PLATFORMS AND STEPS SOMETHING
CLOSE TO FLOQUIL BOXCAR RED. THE N&W CAR I SAW HAD THIS FEATURE ALSO,
PROBABLY A CARRY OVER FROM THE NKP DAYS BY THE NKP SHOP (FRANKFORT) THAT
PAINTED IT.

I know these cabeese are "War Babies" from the NKP and they were built
from surplus 10000 series boxcars. Is there a "high quality" kit that is
"dead on" or even close to the NKP 10000 series box cars? If not, any
idea
of the type of roof these cars had ?
