Re: Fw: new member

Richard,

I'm planning a trip to the National Archives in Ottawa this winter,
December or January; Michigan Central cars are on my list of things to be
extra alert for, so I can send you what I find if you like (and if the
wait isn't too long for you!)

Richard Burg sent the following message to me rather than the group and
I'm passing it on to the group:

"Hello to everyone, I'm new here, but very willing to as time allows
share information on freight cars.
My main interest is the PRR and I can converse on their freight car
fleet in great detail, but I also like the cars of many other roads
and have a lot of data on them to share.
Right now my only research project is dealing with cars of the
Michigan Central, and if any members have unusual photos of their cars
I'd be all "ears/eyes". I'm slowly working up a presentation on their
cars for a Prototype Modelers Seminar, I have 80+ different cars now,
maybe 120 photos total, and I know there are more out there.
I have about 10,000 freight car photos in my collection and willingly
share them for research. I sell 5 X 7, wet process prints of many of
them; details available via email. I look forward to posting prints
on this site to answer questions. I also have an extensive collection
of the ORER issues dating back to 1897. I'm not sure, but I think
this is the biggest collection privately held in the US. There is a
guy in Canada with more issues, but they are far newer ones than I
have. I gladly share copies of pages within reason.
Sincerely,
Richard Burg"
