Re: GTW 11/2 door Single sheathed boxcar

The car shown in the link is an HO scale resin kit made by F&C
(originally sold by Steam Shack, currently available from F&C).

Here are some photos of the ends - it's usually easier to locate
photos of these cars by searching under "CV" instead of "GTW"

Hope these help - I need to get back to work.

Marty,
The picture was of a car model, in the new Yahoo weathering group.
The difference in this car model, was that the car had Youndstown
doors, but the end of the car in the photo could not be seen. The
link for this picture is http://mopac51.tripod.com/id5hmtl. I hope
this clears up the confusion.

Where did you see the picture? If it's online a link would help.

I don't have my reference material at work but that number sounds
like it's one of the c 1928 cars built for the Central Vermont
and
GTW. It might be a CV car that was transferred to the GTW.

Ed Beaudette did an article in MR a few years ago that included
prototype drawings of the CV/GTW 1-1/2 door as built cars (CV's
41000-
series). Not sure about the accuracy of the Mainline drawings
Dennis
referred to but I do know the drawings in MR were based on
prototype
drawings and confirmed with field measurements of three surviving
cars.

for
the scan of the car.
