While this wouldn't work for the smallest manufacturers, Atlas could certainly afford to buy and use one of those rapid-prototype 3-D laser printers to produce a sample prior to cutting the tooling.

I don't understand why 3d Cad images are not provided before the tooling is
cut. Seems like a very low cost, prudent thing to do to avoid putting one's
foot in it.
