Reportedly there were nine cars total (VICX 1001-1009), all 8000 gallon CAPY with
heater coils. Prototype photos and Van Iderstein history are found linked
to Bill Mosteller's Great Decal Website. It appears the prototypes had five
radial courses and dome hardware matching characteristics of a typical STC
tank car. Also, anyone care to speculate where tallow would have been
shipped from Long Island where this firm was located? Bob
