One of the more bizarre instances of a car with arch bar trucks being interchanged long after 1940 is Nevada Northern RR coal-fired steam wrecking crane "A" (1908) which in 1966 was borrowed by the Western Pacific RR to substitute for one of their own wreckers which had failed. What made this interesting transaction even more interesting was that the original arch bar trucks were replaced by the WP with yet another set of archbar trucks fitted with ROLLER BEARINGs that had been removed from one of their own previously retired cranes!

This crane underwent it last heavy servicing in the early 1980's. It remains serviceable and operable in East Ely, NV today.
