Cast iron wheels were prohibited on NEW/REBUILT cars after 1958, but they were not prohibited from interchange until 1970.
Tim is correct. However, it remains true that a car delivered new with 1 W wrought steel wheels would hardly ever have had them replaced with cast wheels in later years.
