The 1928 Moody's notes that Tennessee Railway Company was incorporated on June 20, 1918 as the successor to the property and franchises of the Tennessee Ry Co that was sold at foreclosure on February 2, 1918 for $450,000. The reorganization plan was covered in the 1919 Moody's. It operated from Onedia, Tn to Fork Mt, Tenn, a distance of 45 miles. It had 9 locomotives, 1 passenger car, 2 flatcars, 3 coal cars and 5 cabooses with 5 camp cars. Its 1927 income was $400,600 and net earnings of $133,689 and after fixed charges, a surplus for the year of $4,167.
H. B. Spencer is listed as Chairman of the Board and President.

Subject: [STMFC] Information sought on Tennessee Railroad Company

I have a letter dated December 22, 1924 on Tennessee Railroad Company
stationary signed by their President H.B. Spencer who was also
President of Fruit Growers Express and Western Fruit Express. The
address is 1221 Munsey Building, Washington, D.C. which was also the
address of the two refrigerator car companies. the letter is about
the sale 1,931 used refrigerator companies.

I am hoping someone on the list may have a Moody's or some other
business reference resource form that era that might have details
about this company, that was obviously related to FGE and WFE.

Any help will be appreciated!
