Gentlemen,
The 2011 Savannah Prototype Modeler's Meet will be held on Friday,March 25th and Saturday, March 26th at the Port Wentworth, Ga, recreation center, located at 102 Turnberry Street. The hours for the meet are 9AM to 9PM on both Friday and Saturday.
Although fellowship and fun are huge parts of this meet, the main emphasis will be on the model display so we ask you to bring as many models, completed or in progress, as you can. We will have a sufficient number of tables for you to display your models on.
We have several clinics lined up for your weekend enjoyment. Clinic subjects include modeling the Atlantic Coast Line U25-C, the Southern Bay Window Caboose, operations on the Clinchfield North End, Freight Car Nomenclature, Modeling the Clinchfield F-3 802, modeling a Wood Side Fruit Growers Express car and a clinic on Dry Brush Weathering.
After the evening meal we will have digital presentations by Warren Calloway, Bob Graham and Tommy Parker.
Registration for the meet will be $25.00 for the entire weekend and $20.00 for single days. Anyone bringing and showing more than ten models will receive a $10.00 discount. Pre-registration is not required, but it would be very helpful if you would advise me as to how many models you will be displaying.
We are looking for historical societies and dealers that wish to reserve tables at the meet. Each historical society and each dealer will receive two free tables and two free registrations. Additional tables are $25.00 each.
If you are representing a historical society or are a dealer, please contact me before the meet and let me know how many tables you need.
We hope to have a contract with Holiday Inn Express by next week and I will then post charges for the motel.
We will be able to visit Nate Stone's Clinchfield Northern layout during the weekend. If you would like to make this visit, please contact me and let me know so Nate can schedule the necessary times for your visit.
I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you this year and I look forward to another successful Savannah RPM.
If you have questions concerning the meet, please contact me at rharpe@...
Thank you,
