Probably consumed in the great scrap metal recyling campaign of WWII.
Who knows how much wonderful stuff that could have been preserved was
melted down to make tanks and ships... :-( I wouldn't be surprised if
a few can still be found lying near the right of way in west Texas or
Wyoming, as they had a reputation for flying off of the car sides at
random intervals...
