The building under construction is the DL&W Scranton station, but the interesting thing for this list is the freight equipment in the foreground, including an early tank car marked “The Texas Company.”

NP Andrews truck
brianleppert@att.net
Tahoe Model Works has recently offered a Northern Pacific 40-ton T-section Andrews truck in HO scale.
I molded three versions of this truck. It seems over time NP strengthened the side frames by welding pieces to the top front and/or bars to the bottoms of the lower chords. I first cut the cavities as "as built" and molded a few. Next I cut in the upper reinforcements and made some more of those. Finally the bottom reinforcements were cut and that version is what I can mold more of. I mailed out flyers for this truck to everyone on my mailing list, but this is the first internet announcement. The trucks are offered without wheelsets only and no fancy packaging. I still have some of the "as-built" TMW-016.1 and "top reinforced only" TMW-016.2 left if anyone would want those. For a product flyer and special order form, please contact me OFF-LIST at brianleppert@... I only made these because I had a personal desire for some and the opportunity came up. Thanks go to Jim Dick of the NPRHA for sending a usable drawing some time ago and Aaron Gjermundson for pointing out there is a pair of these on display at the North Dakota State Railroad Museum in Mandan, ND. And thanks to Aaron for creating two great NP resin kits that started my desire. And I guess also to my brother-in-law for having his farm only a 25 minute drive from the museum. My wife and I needed to go back there in 2014 and Aaron drove some distance to hold the type measure while I shot photos. I have some photos awaiting approval for our Photos section. The truck is offered for a short time only and is not being added to the line. I would like to donate some to the Northern Pacific Railway Historical Association. Re: Tahoe 16.1 16.2 16.3 trucks
Jim Hayes
I agree with Tim. It would be great to see an update to the Sunshine list. I have several updates pending include to the Tahoe list. However, it's been so long since I last update the site that I've forgotten how to upload my changes to production and I haven't taken the time to research it. I know it's a simple problem about a password, but... I've been very busy lately with remodeling and health problems with both myself and my wife. I'll get the site updated eventually but can't say when. Jim

Layout Tour
Scott & Eric,
It looks like a modification for work service to the steel plate ends on the 78000-79499 series wrong way box cars. Ted Culotta did a pretty extensive discussion of these cars in the Feb. 2006 RMC.

Tahoe 16.1 16.2 16.3 trucks
It would be great to see an update to the Tahoe truck info here...
http://sunshinekits.com/tahoe.html I bought two of the "modified" NP 16.x trucks from Andy at Cocoa Beach but neither one of us could tell the difference between the purported "Version 2" and "Version 3" trucks so I'm really not sure which ones I bought. Can anyone give precise description or offer photos pointing out the differences between the truck versions? The trucks are magnificent, by the way. :-) Tim O'Connor

Well, it required about 10 seconds to recognize the value of the search page and to bookmark it. Dick, thank you.

Dick Harley
In addition to Tony's book, CBCs and the IRM Library as a source for R-40-10 drawings, the Calif. St. RR Museum Library also has R-40-10 drawings available.
Go to : http://csrrm.crewnoble.com/SearchDrawingsBasic.htm and enter R-40-10 in the "Description" box. There is also a link there to contact the library for further info. Additionally, I have posted prototype photos, prototype data and a few model photos on my SmugMug site: https://harley-trains.smugmug.com/ Enjoy, Dick Harley Laguna Beach, CA

Re: N&W 1950 Fast Freight on YouTube
Greg Martin
Dennis,
We were talking about this as a very common load fro empty stock cars in
CCB last Friday morning while I was putting out my ACCURAIL GN stock car, the
mineral red one. A noted modeler said he really couldn't use stock cars on his
road, and I ask if his road had any brick manufacturing plants online in
Mid-Indiana or points towards Kentucky and he said he did, I told him he needed
stock cars and for hauling, coal, lumber and hay to name a few.
