Don’t know what part you need. Consider using another ‘like’ part as a wreck damage replacement? Makes for some fun weathering options. 80% of my modeling is damage control... ;  ))

Thanks but those are not parts for the former Branchline postwar boxcars that I was looking for in my original post.

I have three unbuilt MKT/GARX plug door kits, part 1811, and a couple of others for which I no longer have any use. Contact me off-list at sarahsan_AT_ embarqmail.com if you are interested. Please do not respond here.

Many of these cars have black ends, and they did a good job with color matching, so you may have to hunt if you want a specific color.  Watch out, new stuff is molded in light gray, not red or black like the original parts were.

Wow I called Atlas in Jan, for tank car parts. While I was talking to the parts fellow I inquired about BL parts or undec kits. he told me they were out of stock, and what they had they sold the whole lot to some dealer. He also told me the BL parts would not be available any more. Dave

Dave,

Depending on what you need, consider looking for a parts donor kit at a train show. At the Shenandoah Valley show earlier this month I saw a couple dozen unassembled Branchline kits, mostly 50' cars. Even if you need parts for a 40' car, the 50' ladders and brake parts should work, and you will get some extra goodies for your parts stash.

I didn't know that Iowa banned side door waycars. The CB&Q had them, and used them on several branch lines, so I'd like to know the year the State of Iowa banned them. I was planning to build one for my Burlington-Washington branch.

The IC used side door cabooses on every division on the line except for Iowa where they were banned by state law.  Some of them ran well past the end date of this list and made it into orange paint after 1967.
