The hopper on the right is is one of 1100 PRR class GL built by AC&F on Lot 2571, presumably because Pressed Steel couldn't get their orders out the door fast enough. AC&F also built 300 GL for Lines West on Lot 2856.

The same link was posted over on the B&M group, where Scott Whitney subsequently claimed ownership of the Dropbox account (part of his NMRO operation).

Almost all of the same images have been released on a CD by a company called WLHG out of Methuen, MA (purchased mine through ebay).  Those images have a WLHG watermark (and are all in sepia tones).

As to any IP or copyright issues, or whom to credit for the photos, well....

Thanks, Bob. You made a happy discovery of a collection that someone assembled in a dropbox folder. Thanks for sharing it. There are some photos that shed light on the construction details and builder of some of the cars included and those sorts of small bits of the bigger picture are always gratefully received.

Dave,

FYI there is an undecorated Nickle Plate version on Ebay. It would save you the hassle of striping it and maybe an easier process to disassemble.

Here's an image showing the Sunshine and Pennington Duryea underframe mini-kit parts, and the Speedwitch B&O M-26D/E and ATSF Bx-26 Duryea parts. They are all different. As Bill Darnaby mentioned, the Sunshine set will build either the early or late versions, however that's defined. The Speedwitch Santa Fe set has a couple pieces missing because the car is under construction, but the cross-members are shown.

Who/what should be cited as the source for the photos? Are they from your private collection? From a website? Institution?

Both Gene Diemling and John Barry have produced excellent tutorals on building Santa Fe Bx 37 (I believe) boxcars with Duryea underframes.  Genes car was in O scale and John's in HO. I have these at home but am stuck in a hotel while a major plumbing retrofit is taking place in our building.

Gene's may be found on his blog.

Bx-26, 27, 34 were all built with Duryea u/f’s.  Bx-37 had a conventional u/f and was the only class in this group to have transverse mounted air reservoirs.

I found two different types in my stash. One is a Sunshine mini-kit, "Rock Island Duryea Underframe, Superior Door, Decals for 10'6" IH Boxcar", and a set for a Frisco boxcar marketed for a short time by a modeler whose name escapes me. It's "#37DUR FRISCO BOXCAR U'FRAME & DOORS", and on the back of the package it says "CAST RESIN PARTS TO MODEL SL-SF 1937 AAR BOX CAR WITH DURYEA UNDER FRAME. USE WITH RED CABOOSE #RC-8001 BOXCAR KIT."

As mentioned there's the Speedwitch B&O M-26D/E kit, and also the Speedwitch Santa Fe Bx-26 boxcar kit, which also has a Duryea underframe. Haven't compared the two to see if they're different.
