Very cool.

I troll this site extensively for rail and industry images. My next layout inspiration is the B&O Allegheny Yard branch that ran along the Allegheny River out of Willow Grove. I've found lots of great images close to my 1926 modeling focus.

Eric;

In my experience of this area, the really tall ones were loaded two-only to a gon, lengthwise, near the ends. Some of the shorter ones were loaded sideways. You usually can't see the stools, which were generally loaded in a pile in the center. I love these shots that show how to model the inside, and for loads like this, since I model this area of Pgh.

I see the ingots are loaded two different ways in two gondolas.

Note the left over debris in the empty gons, too.

Nice P&LE gon shot. These are the big ingot molds they used at USS Homestead:

I think the RIX molds are similar. I remember the new molds being shipped in were a combo of black, new rust and mold release white, in color.

Interesting Pennsy Lines four-wheel cabin car at the far left. Photo is noted as a Columbus, Ohio location, circa 1913.

Those GS gons might have drop doors, too.

There is so much to discover on the Historic Pittsburgh site.

Ben is right. There was a damage investigation that also involved this car. I have not found the rest of the photos of this event. This is the P&LE part of the P&LE/PRR/Union RR (USS) interchange yard at Homestead, PA.

The chalked reporting marks on the boxcar makes me believe that this photo is documentation for an accident investigation.

Notice the hand car just barely visible on the ground to the left, evidently set off the track.

Getting decals printed

Marty McGuirk

Can anyone recommend a custom decal printer they have had a positive experience with? I've got some HO scale artwork I need to have printed.

Oh yes, how could I forget?  :-P

I picked a couple of the Rydarowicz cars last year, and I've also bought some Sunshine from him based on eBay listings.

But I don't think the Ferrari is for sale.

I couldn't get to St. Louis this year.  Was there a dealer who had some Stan Rydarowicz kits?  There was one last year, but I lost track of who it was.
