The car number is too faint for me to see on my monitor. Are those patch plates along the bottom of the car? Bob Chaparro Hemet, CA

Re: Photo: Tank Cars At National Zinc Separating Company Plant
David,
Unfortunately, that particular archive has no zoom function. I downloaded the photo, but the scan resolution was such that it really could not be enlarged.

this photo? The car looks like a pre-tank-anchor German-American product, and a larger version would be nice. David Thompson

Re: ERIE boxcars in 1914 and a nice view of a loading pen with sheep
Notice the hogs in the pen with the hog shed.
What is the white octagonal building? A phone booth? It’s up on cribbing and it looks like a tool boxes and other supplies around it. There are work crew cars with walk planks among the siding. Indications of a work project in town?

Re: some steam era work train equipment images
Claus the “sand car” is probably for hauling/storing locomotive sand. Appears to be a homemade single bay covered hopper.

Hi List Members,
I stumbled upon some steam era work train equipment images of various types
IC (number unreadable) single sheathed boxcar with windows
L&N 40069, described as 'sand car' a bit of a mystery!
NYC car, possible tank car? Possible weed sprayer? Possibly rebuild from a steam loco tender?
Enjoy!
