To pull together the overall picture beyond the snippets of information above, Class K7A was rebuilt from Class X24 automobile boxcars in 1934-1935 and represented the largest single class of PRR stock cars during the steam-to-diesel transition era.  This is the prototype for the Broadway Limited HO and N scale models.  An article on improving the HO scale models, along with some prototype information, appeared in Issue 20 of The Keystone Modeler.

Lester,

Excellent car/build!  Question - why did you install the uncoupler bars
so late in the process?  I'm not saying you did something wrong but I
noticed that all of the other detail parts had been installed much
earlier and wondered "why".

IJ was surprised (and hopeful)  to see bob’s post xthismoprning on a Pacific Electric modeling group.  Looking at the attachment it dowes not appear that there have been any recent entries on this group.  Does anyone know if this group is still active?

As an SP modeletr I do have some Pacific Electric eaquipmenton my roster.  I have had a long term burning question on P:E cabooses that I cansomeday get an answer to.

Pardon the Not To Scale dust in this photo.

Western Refrigerator Transit (WRT)) cars were acquired by Union Refrigerator Transit of Wisconsin (operated by ART at the time). From reading the entry in the 1905 ORER, the changeover happened September 1, 1903.

The ORER lists a 1001-1100 series of cars lettered for WRT. It doesn't mention any other WRT cars, but URT of Wisconsin did have a 6000-series listed.

SBIX Roman lettering color-red or black?

nyc3001 .

The PDS that comes with the Sunshine vinegar tank car kit mentions two lettering styles for Standard Brands: a red Roman lettering and a black sans-serif lettering. However, the kit that I have comes with black Roman decals and reweigh dates in the late '40s and early '50s. Was this lettering accurate for the vinegar car around this time?

I agree and if the location is really Indianapolis this would place the image after the NKP's 1923 acquisition of the Lake Erie & Western as the NKP did not get to Indianapolis prior to that acquisition.
