My email read "I am not sure about the prototypes, except some of the NKP cars had Viking roofs. I am sure there were others" Erie may be one of the others!

Cotton Belt 36000-38499 DS Boxcars With Side Straps!
Vol III, Number 2 of Locomotive Quarterly at page 56 has a mid train helper picture dated June 29, 1941. Cotton Belt 36040 ( repaint date is 7-40) is being pushed by DRGW USRA 2-8-8-2 mallet 3501.

Tom was making referrence to the roofs on the models, not the prototype. None of the P2K models had Viking roofs. I am not sure about the prototypes, except some of the NKP cars had Viking
