Does anyone have a photo or know of a source of a photo from series L&A 4001-4050? These cars were AAR 33' IL twin offset-side hopper cars built in 1937 by Pressed Steel Car Co. The

Roaring Rails
The film was more melodrama than railroad. However, there were several AT&SF Bx-Os in evidence. Also steam shovel and dump cars. It appeared that the film was shot both on SP and Sante Fe trackage.

I've collected a couple of steam-era brake clubs. Yes, brakemen could have used the busted handles from spike mauls and sledge hammers, but with a broken end I doubt a trainman would trust it. Broken

"4-5 inches in diameter"? That's kinda big to get one's hands around. I always figured that brake clubs looked like cut off sledge handles... in fact broken spike maul handles likely were a prime

A picture is worth a thousand words. Apparently this was the method used to
move wheels around before the advent of the forklift. There must have been a
steam powered crane to move them from the wheel

At 13:56 is an aerial view of a PFE ice reefer -- and the roof
appears to be plain galvanized (unpainted) metal! The film appears
to have been made in the early 1950's long before PFE applied
