Air Honing plastic
All,
I've posted a couple of photos of a diesel shell that I recently subjected to air honing with Aluminum Oxide. Pressure was between 80 and 140lbs (the max of my compressor). Look in the Photos

Hi there,
I'm working on a couple of the Fox Valley wagon-top cars - unfortunately both came lettered with the same car number.
The good news: - the lettering comes off very easily with orange based

Yes Larry
That was the message I remembered. I found the product, but given the amount and the price, I was happy to find it in a smaller quantity and price to give it a try.

Re: Adhesives for Plastics
Yes Derrell I agree. I do this routinely now outside with Baking Soda since I don't have a Media Booth. The rain takes care of the BS residue.

Re: Adhesives for Plastics
Bill,
This is good to know. Thanks!
If I may add the idea of air honing the slick and difficult plastics first? This is where again, Jacks's thoughtful and clever air honing booth in the Feb. RMC

Al, As best as I can recall this was down near the welded rail shop. The car was sandwiched in a group of other cars being used for storage.

Bill,
I have limited experience with it; but always had very good results. I found
out about it around a year ago, while watching an episode of "Cody's Office" on
Model Railroader's web

Re: A&EC 40' boxcar
Thank You, Ben
I should have thought of this list on steamfreightcars. The car places at a build in 1938 and appears to have trucks similar to accurail.
