Re: WESTERFIELD MP DOOR AND A HALF AUTO CAR
One of the AAR recommendations / requirements for AB brake installations was that the control valve was to NOT be placed below a door, where trucks backing up to the car to load / unload might damage

Re: C&O 100-ton Gondola article on eBay
Hi Al,
You say they were re-trucked in 1924. What type of trucks did they
receive? Do you know where to find the original style trucks in HO?
Would Buckeye trucks be a suitable substitute?
Thank

WESTERFIELD MP DOOR AND A HALF AUTO CAR
A while back i posted a question on one of Al's first kits which was the I-GN (MP) door
and a half 40 ft. auto car. My question at that time concerned a more modern lettering
scheme for this car

Re: How to unload coal 1945
This is a little newer, however I'll go for it. During 1964 While working a Q branch line in the SE corner of Iowa I had a gondola load of coal come in. It was unloaded by a gentleman using a shovel

Diagonal lines will be pixelated at 400 dpi when published. I would recommend much more, probably 1200 dpi or more.

Jeff,
This is great to look at . . . . but it ain't usable in an InDesign layout. The finished models are gorgeous! Not many coal cars were purchased in 1921 and then completely re-trucked in

I was looking for a publication ready quality set of drawings to scan and publish in a C&O History Magazine article. I was planning on scanning at 400 dpi and then cleaning them

Re: How to unload coal 1945
Not obvious from the photo is these sheds were normally divided into separate bins with bulkheads inside midway between the doors. This shed had four doors, so as many as four different grades of coal
