TC&I built those cars at the newly built Fairfield plant. The plant was built in 1917. The car shop was actually moved brick by brick from Bessemer. The land that Pullman bought and placed

Chickasaw Ship Building & Car Co, Fairfield, AL 1921 - 1928 was a subsidiary of US Steel - Purchased by Pullman about 1929. Some equipment moved to the new Pullman plant in Bessemer, AL.
