Bob,
Along with al the other "I don't really know" answers, my guess would
be some form of pickle tank car, hence TSPX, ... .... pickle. All the
hatches and walkway width.

Bob it appears to be an enclosed tank car. The open hatch and T handle would
indicate a valve or hatch just below the roof that needs to opened or
closed. It certainly is not an ice car, as the photo

Re: buying model screws
I was buying #256 screws from " Fastenal" at a really good price, like 10 cents each, until they started charging for the shipping to their stores. $6.50 added on to the cost, so it's no longer

Caveats: NONE
Bob;
I do not know what TSP Co is, but this looks like a "tank car inside of box car" arrangement, like the later Linde Cars had. I know someone on this

I've bought at least a dozen boxes of short (2-56?) screws. Someone can get 1000+ assorted screws for attaching trucks cheap when I go to the next world.
Athearn screws are a specialty item - they

No one (in the hobby business) is going to get rich selling screws or even pay the power bill, but you have to wonder why the LHS operator just doesn't buy the common size screws in bulk and

Really!?
.05 a screw for extra length?
Find another source. I pay $0.50 more per 100 for 3/8 over 1/4.

Jck,
We used to do that at Trains Unlimited in Lynchburg, Virginia. It was
appreciated and a good deal for all involved. We had a ton of detail and
scratchbuilding supplies but couldn't do much

Re: buying model screws
Please remember: check size!!! 1/4 inch will be more pricy that 3/8ths. Could be as much as .05 each. I buy by the 1000. That can be costly. All I do is cut it down with a crimping tool.

<<
Brian, I thought about this point, and perhaps I should have pointed out that packaging and distributing small numbers of screws, as Walthers does and which your LHS sells, is an expensive process.
