Hi Larry,
Sorry; the NKP never rebuilt ANY of their short boxcars into all steel cars (double OR single sheathed). What you're probably seeing is a photo of a car with REALLY new sides and paint;

Re: Intermountain's NKP Alt Std Hoppers
I'm curious about the re-building of "some" of the 33xxx cars to have flat-top ends. How many of these cars had this conversion--a few, or all, or almost all, or "half"? And was this all done right

Re: Intermountain's NKP Alt Std Hoppers
At some point in the recent past, I purchased several B&W photos from Jay
Williams and tonight I just happened to lay out the 3 side by side and note
the similarities. Two were different views of NKP

Klasing Hand Brake
Looks like another Klasing hand brake in HO scale is imminent. From what I have seen so far it will be nice. This one will be a companion to the Klasing hand brake done by Red Caboose.

Intermountain's NKP Alt Std Hoppers
Any prototype photos of these cars in the numbers and configuration IM did them?
They did two versions, one with an arched end and the other with a notched arched end. All in 33xxx number

Nice little holiday surprise Pierre. As interesting as these goodies are, Pierre failed to mention the future Wabash steel welded 40-foot boxcar complete with the wavy steel panels so frequently seen

Hullo Eric
Thanks for your thoughts on this. For my TT one, I stuck to your photos and the RMJ article.
That said, the car in the Bossler book does look interesting; does anyone have any
