Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
The Intermountain models I've cited represent this group, as stated by Joe Z.:
"12701-12801 Pullman Standard 1953, eight roof hatches, similar to ACF cars in that they had side sheet openings.

I'll try to answer some of the LNE questions, based on railroad data, several printed sources, and photos I have.
Covered hopper fleet broken down as follows:
12001-12080 Converted from twin hoppers

Re: NC&StL Steel rebuilds on 70200 series (Tichy) flat car
I appreciate your interest Stan but I am not sure how the impression got out there I would be handling these kits, if they indeed become kits, just a set of castings, or nothing at all.

Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
I'm also in Greg's boat: I'm not a particularly adept kit builder, but I model northeast Jersey and sure could use a small fleet of LNE and DL&W 1790s.
So it does sound as if some of the LNE fleet

Yes, but I'm not the greatest resin kit modeler, able to turn that into an acceptable model. I'd like to see it in a similar form & quality as to what Bowser did with the H30.

Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
Near as I can tell the P-S LNE cars were near clones of the ACF cars. May have been minor differences but visually the Bowser or Intermountain cars are close enough for me.

Were they visually the same, or was there a PS feature that differentiated them? I think I want those damn early ACF 1790 cars!

Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
All my resources indicate the 12701-12800 series of LNE cars were built by Pullman-Standard and were basically copies of the ACF design.

The Railway Prototype Cyclopedia #27 covers the 1958 cuft cars and it mentions that some railroads labeled them as 1892 cuft cars and it's based upon to what height the car lading was filled to. They

Andy, you are in the South, how can an extra fourty five minutes of sack time be a bad thing.
Wait a bit, maybe I figured that wrong.

HI Bill,
If you should have a kit left I would be interested.

Bill, glad to know you can sing. I, for one, look forward to seeing/getting this crucial freight car. I can always use a few more meat reefers.

Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
Eric, here's a slightly better photo --
Tim
Just 35 built by Bethlehem Steel in 1950, LNE 12666-12700. May differ from usual design.
No cut-outs in side. I've never seen one except rebuilt to

Re: Lehigh & New England covered hopper question
12701-12800 were built by Pullman. I guess they arepretty close to the ACF design. My notes indicate cut-outs in the sidesheets. 12666-12700 are the same general design, but are about 7" lower,
