The CB&Q Kitchen Cars ran with Allieds for some years before being changed. I doubt that any Troop Pullmans or Kitchen Cars were converted by the Army as the cars retained were so equipped through

Didn't David Lambert do an article on a number of the railroads that converted Pullman Troop Sleepers/Kitchens into baggage and/or express cars after the war in RMC some ten to fifteen years

Actually, it is cooler to see an old V carin use in 1948. Lots were used during WWII, but disappeared fairlyrapidly after as they were not converted to AB brakes.

I love this photo! See how the clerk has wiped the number of REX 6221 so that it can be read? A cotton swap and some thinner or isopropanol (depending on the paint) can be used to give the same
