Bill, I have two photos of WofA 11017 reweighed in ’56. One is a broadside (possibly the one in Bob’s book); the other is a 7/8 view showing the B end. It’s a bit fuzzy, but it you want it

CB&Q Wheel Reports
Dave,
Join the Rail Freight Group. Russ Stroutz has posted several CB&Q wheel reports in the files area. Also if you search the old messages, he has also posted some he has typed in himself.

I’m detailing an Accurail USRA twin hopper as a Western ofAlabama car, series 11000-11044. (Theywere “clones” built in 1923, not USRA originals.) I’ve seen

Re: open car loads (pipe sections with flared ends)
Pipe could have been shipped in gons, or more likely, flatcars, with suitable timber bracing.
Fittings would have been crated and shipped in boxcars, most likely.

Re: open car loads (pipe sections with flared ends)
Yes, that's what cast iron pipe and fittings look like. Since the 1990s they have been ductile iron instead of gray cast iron, but the shapes are unchanged.
Pipe is typically 10 or 18 feet long.
