L&N 9800-series furniture boxcars, roof design?
A friend is scratchbuilding a model of an L&N 9800-series door-and-a-half boxcar. The roof design has him stumped. Since there appears to be 24 running board supports, I assume there are 24 carlines

Ben, Your are correct! The for "D" was right on top of "X" ooops. That means it was there either to serve a dairy coop in Lexington for the farmers or its stuff was heading in for the universities.
