I am not familiar with this particular car but it reminds me of the later
B&O "canstock" box cars which had the doors offset to the ends. This had
something to do with being able to load and unload

Very interesting indeed.
Judging from the mounting of the ladder on the far side of the car, it appears that both right and left side double doors are at the same end of the car.

I noticed today that the Tangent three compartment tank car has no retainer valve. I then checked the acid car and it too lacks this part of the brake system.
