build, paint, decal, weather - a five year project for six cars
It can take some time to finish some projects, but it’sa great feeling when they are done. I started six USRA double sheathed box carsfive years ago and finished the weathering them in the last week

CANADIAN NATIONAL 8 hatch reefers
Fellow modelers, I have run into a snag in trying to decide which car numbers to use in decaling some 8 hatch CN reefer kits I purchased from F&C. Could one of our experts on Canadian car numbers

Wow! Some excellent modelling, there, and a lot of subject variety. I learned a lot just by looking at these photos. Nice to see some of the works of those who post regularly on the STMFC Group. Great

Dan,
This is really interesting data, especially with respect to the reduction in home road cars in he Eastern District during WWII.
Two questions come to mind immediately,
1) What railroads make up

Re: Hopper car Service Orders
Tim,
I have seen the term used to designate any car that not a house car namely open-top hoppers, gondolas and flat cars. I am not sure how the term is used in Dan's data.

Grades are a huge consideration --
Rules of thumb --
5 hp/ton on 0% grade (flat land)
25 hp/ton on 1% grade
45 hp/ton

Since the data says "open top cars" does that include gondolas,or is
this only for open top hopper cars?
I was thinking about what someone said about cars going offline and
never returning, but it

Nelson,
This information is typically found in the Employee Time Table of the prototype. Since it completely depends on the ruling grade, it varies for each segment of a railroad.
