Re: Champ Decals vendors: Are there any?
Don is very open about his business plans, although he can certainly
drag his feet with the best of them. :-) If we don't find out soonerI'll
ask him at one of the train shows I go to over the next

That is absolutely great news. There are really a lot of terrific decals in Jerry's line. Do we know when the line may be back on sale, e.g. listed on a web site or otherwise

Re: Rapido announced a NP 10000 series boxcar
I don't recall where I came across it but I read something the WP understood
the NP was quite hostile to it so it sounds like north/south traffic
pairings were SP/NP and WP/GN.

Re: LV 63000 (or any LV 40' red boxcar)
The lowered route card board was instituted in 1954. Of course many older cars still had the old location for years afterward, but not new cars.

Yes, Tichy does have decals for many of the cars they produce, but not for the flatcar we have been discussing.

The only problem I've ever seen with Allen's decal is they are mostly Canadian (VBG)!
Are Norwest Kits & Castings still in business?

Epson decal printing....... Re: Champ Decals vendors: Are there any?
[I opened a new thread for this]
I have that article now.
It’s… Painting with Decals, MR June 2003, by John Socha-Leialoha, page 84-86
For media, he used WHITE ink-jet decal paper. [you likely

Tim,
If you find out if someone did acquire Jerry's decal artwork I would like to know who. I know through conversations with Jerry over the past couple of years that he did not print his own decals,

Re: Champ Decals Shortcomings
That happens with some decoders now . . . usually only once, though.

Sure, like someday we'll have "real digital" smoke someday.

One other note I ran into Tichy at the Raleigh train show recently and he is producing decals in HO. He has several 'Stock" sets on his website to support his kits and told me he would be willing to

Re: LV 63000 (or any LV 40' red boxcar)
Ron,
The tackboards of the 6300’s were in the middle of the door and centered when built in 1950. The 7” and 9” road name lettering on box cars was standard until 1955 when 12”

Re: Champ Decals vendors: Are there any?
Jerry & Tom provided a service to many and will be missed.
Champ had 1000s of sets. Some of the artwork was done 50 years ago. You'll never see stock like that again.

Re: Champ Decals vendors: Are there any?
I never suggested which printers do the better job, nor that they all can print on decal paper; only that the standard digital decal set can be printed from any of them.
Suggesting that some do it
