Protowest made a resin kit for these B&O flatcars [ Bacjk then that was how you got one in styrene] that kit included decal sets. The B&OHS assisted in the kits development so the decals are

Bob, Interesting thought, but no. We can't clearly distinguish the flangeways due to foreshortening and lack of sufficient resolution in the image. Offhand, I don't think there was any experimentation
