My eyes have reached the point where I need help, particularly when it comes to adding details, including creating starting points for holes to be drilled for handrails, etc. on both diesels and steam

Fran,
You've gotten good advice from all the previous posters. No source of information is perfect as Steve stated with his experience with the Santa Fe stock cars. How close do you want to get? And

The SP H&TS website has something that can be printed out in color but it may be too modern for us. This is a topic I have only recently developed an interest in and have rounded up three more kits in

Re: Plasterboard Loads
Bob and Bill,
WP 50' flats from series 2401-2700 were converted with bulkheads of at least two different styles for wallboard service in 1951-53. The cars were renumbered

Re: Getting the proper ORER
Fran,
Why not pick up an official B&O Summaryof Equipment? The B&ORHS bunch has copies of 1956 and 1957 available. My1925 version has been very handy to cross reference with a 1926 ORER for my1926

There is a delay between tabulation and publication, so if I wanted B&O or whatever through September of a given year, what year/month should I request?

Re: Getting the proper ORER
The California State Railroad Museum has an expensive collection of ORERs. Give them a call with information on what issue of the ORER that you need for the B&O and they can most likely photocopy it

A couple notes:
The GN had a series of boxcars devoted to cement haulage during the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam. These might be part of that--note what looks like outlets on the car
