Re: Tank car with biggest capacity during 1930?
Mm, when were the Jones & Laughlin 20,000-gallon tanks built? They appear (JLSX 1020-1028) in the 1936 tank-car tariff but I don't have an earlier listing.

Tank car with biggest capacity during 1930?
I would like to know what is the tank car with the most gallons in capacity as of the year 1930. The candidate I've been thinking is the 1930-built Santa Fe Tk-L with 16,000 gallons or a little more.

Re: USRA rebuild with a Hutchins end?
Likely an ex-NKP rebuild as offered in resin by Sunshine. I do not remember it origins so I cannot speak to whether it rebuilt from a USRA car or not.

USRA rebuild with a Hutchins end?
Does anyone know who may have applied Hutchins ends to their USRA
rebuilds? I'm guessing this TP&W car is second-hand...

Terry's parts that's ok too. They are very similar to each otherwith
only a tiny difference in height and thickness. For all I know

I have not done the fitting, counting ribs and comparison checks, but what is the possibility that the ends Terry Wegmann made for his PFE R-30-18 flat kit being useful for this application? Bill, I

A little more background on this.
On August 18, 1918, the United States Railway Administration announced thatthe SFRD (Despatch) would be under Federal control of the USRA effective January 1, 1919.

Rio Grande question - Where is "FA?"
A friend has a photo of a box car (blt ’39, I believe) but it has a legend of “FA 10-45” to the left of the door. Friends who are D&RGW fans (but not on STMFC) have asked me what that means.

John, the Rr-71 had ASYMMETRIC sides - the number of ribs is not
the same on both sides.
