Dump cars
Does anyone make a decent standard gauge dump car suitable for our era, or more specifically my era (1958)? As I recall the Walthers dump cars are too modern.

Not to say that it didn't happen (never say never etc) but I've not seen any evidence of, or read reports of that happening on the O&W...and I do model O&W.

You make an interesting point about partial re-stencilling. This 1937 example seems rather rare though an likely to be even rarer or non-existent in my time period at the end of 1944. I know

I have to disagree slightly with Eric about the lettering on the RDG 27935 gon. The right-hand side does contain the hardware inventory found in pre-1927 lettering schemes. Just above the repack

Definitely SFRD! GTW's Elston yard had direct connection to the south end of Santa Fe's Corwith yard. I grew up next to the GTW main just south of there and blocks of SFRD reefers were common
