Hello Jack,
that was nice to watch, many thanks. I am still far away from having such a complete modeling/ hobby room with all the necessary tools, but I am working on that :-)

MKT War Emergency boxcar body and underframe joined
Managed to cut away the floor on the IM body w/o any major drama. Nice to see the superstructure sitting on the underframe but not glued as yet.

The same videographer who produced the video on my Yosemite Valley Railroad layout last June asked me to do a series about model railroading. The first one is on organization and how to make the most

Re: Second-rate Paint Job
Interesting to note the lettering that went on top of the silver paint is still in very good shape. Which implies it was not a preparation problem.

I used the Branchline ACF reefer underframe as a base for my MKT War Emergency kit-bash using 91% Isopropyl alcohol to strip most of the paint—this worked quickly. From the information I had thanks

Bob,
The failure of the paint on this car has nothing to do with the steam era and similar failures would be extremely unlikely in the steam era, therefor duplication of this effect is really beyond

Re: WP Boxcar Weathering
Garth,
The MS Color Guide (page 21) has a 1961 photo of an earlier car from MtVernon
series 20201-20550 (built 1945) that shows a weathered, unpaintedgalvanized roof.
There's also a 1979 photo of WPMW

Bruce,
Thanks for your comments, and your cautions about this car not being in revenue service are noted. That said, I photographed trains on the WP and SN from the mid-1960s
