Re: correct trucks on CB&Q SM-18 stock cars (?)
To follow up on TMW trucks, it is possible to buy the trucks without wheel sets at $3.75 per pair and install your own wheels. I use Intermountain wheels. TMW doesn’t list that option on the order

Speaking of trucks, the B&O gon's trucks look unusual. Any thoughts?
And no, I have no idea why those two panels are deeper. The car appears to have KC brakes, so it's not protecting the brake gear.

Scott,
Thanks for the answer. I have never seen that before and so I
suspected it was a practice/method that was discontinued due to
better methods being developed.

What the... ?? I just received this from ARCHER and I thought to ask here-
did ARCHER relocate to the UnitedStates? If so, that's good news, but it's news
to me in any case!

Just my opinion but although Accurail Andrew are nicely detailed I think they are too long and on a model they are too big, especially if you have a car next to it with the Tahoe truck. On a stock car

It depends upon what date(s) you intend to represent. SM-18 and SM-18A stock cars were built between 1926 and 1928, and they originally received arch bar trucks, but they received Andrews trucks

Well... the car coupled to the other end is the new Accurail 36' car. While the fishbelly center sill shows underneath, the real spotting feature is the bolster ends.
