Ed and Ron,
WP series 9001-9050 had 20 panels, five panels on the slope and all ribs extending to the sill. These were 1949 Greenville cars. Does this match up (I don't have one

Re: Eastern Car Works 65' mill gondolas
Ron,
I found the jacking pads on a WP car; and, I think, at least one other. But then the ends are kinda different. Otherwise, real close.
I'm not too worried about ladders vs. grabs, as I figure

Re: Vallejo Paint Colors
I have purchased Vallejo paints at my LHS, at Hobby Lobby, and from Amazon. The Model Air formulation is not nearly as common as the Model Color, but I don't mind thinning the latter to suit.

Re: deliver something other than livestock
Not sure if it was mentioned as I haven't gone through all the responses, but I'm pretty sure PRR class K stock cars were used to haul the (summer) tomato harvest to the Campbell's Soup

Re: Alexander scale models
Look at Alexander Scale Models.
Tomar has been sold to a west coast company
Alexander has the haunted house, school house and soon the B&O tower on sales
In the Stewart line there are many castings
