Re: Unknown Refrigerator at Steamtown
Bob,
The MDT articles at my disposal (Hinman and Rydarwicz) do not mention Duryea underframes. That said, according to a document posted on the Steam Era Freight Cars web site

Re: Early Intermodal Freight
Neat find!
Those Overland Whippets might have been crated that way for export shipment as well.

Early Intermodal Freight
A circa 1928 photo of Overland automobiles (maybe partially assembled?) in shipping crates on flatcars and a barge:

Claus,
I see them also. Faintly, likely due to them fully catching the sunlight, but they are there.

Hi Bruce,
Given its apparent age and the 1944 date for the photo, I suspect you’re right.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts on the car type.

Re: Can Anyone identify the gondola coupled to the MP blister sided gondola?
Ralph,
It certainly looks like CG 39623 is a ventilated boxcar, but given the light paint and dark stencil, I think that it might be in company service and not revenue

Hi Claus,
Good eye. Now that you’ve brought them to our attention, I can see them too.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what looks to be CG 39623 shown to the left of the water tower? A

Hi Gary and List Members,
If you look at the image at "Original" resolution, one can faintly (very faintly) make out the diagonals on the near half of the car. They don't show well because the angle
