On the subject of Tichy decals.....Has anyone spoken to them about the issues?
I had a Tichy kit that had several poorly molded parts. I wrote and asked for replacements...No questions asked, Tichy

Steve
The scheme is close but the logo is bit different. I think Sunshine did offer a kit with the logo that has been spoken about here.

Re: Watermelons
When I went to High School in the early 60's, I had to cross Gibson Freight Yard on the west end. About once or twice a year I would pass a ventilated boxcar full of watermelons. This car had no roof,

Re: [Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] Elgin Boxcar Green/Orange paint when started? Decals Available???
Hubert makes excellent decals, but the EJ&E date stencil should read 64 not 54.
In other words it's a 1960's paint scheme - which is fine with me! :-)

All
Tim is correct that the scheme Michael requested is now offered by Tichy.
Mask Island Decals offers this scheme for EJ&E.

Re: [Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] Elgin Boxcar Green/Orange paint when started? Decals Available???
The EJ&E applied at least four other paint schemes that included green & orange colors,
as attached here. Note the physical differences between some of the cars - they are not
all exactly alike.

Re: Questions for my first resin build
There was an article in RMC a while ago about modeling a watermelon load. I don’t remember whether it was in a stock car or box car. I am not at home so I can’t check my files.

Here are clearer pictures showing the EJ&E 10-0 postwar box car in its original lettering,
which I think was WHITE.

Re: Elgin Boxcar Green/Orange paint when started? Decals Available???
Michael
I think the only source is now Jerry Glow - or Tichy, since Jerry may have sold that
art to Tichy. Jerry may have done the orange lettering for two different cars.

Paolo,
Welcome! I see you have received many excellent tips from the Group. You indicate that your resin kits are mostly F&C kits. It is well known by this group that F&C's instruction sheets are not
