That’s a great looking build and I like the weathering as well.

Re: Illinois Central R-40-10 reefer colors
Depends on era. IIRC the scheme you have is the as-built scheme. Others on the list can doubtless enlarge on this.

Illinois Central R-40-10 reefer colors
Hi all,
purchased this smart looking IC 50039 reefer for my reefer collection.
Checked the group's archives and could find two paint suggestions:
- green ends, silver roof (Hendrickson)
- black ends

Hi Levi,
Welcome aboard!
I will be looking forward to seeing your photographs. I’m particularly interested in early freight (and passenger) cars, especially those that could have shown up on

Re: New Decal Availabile
Here is the (1950) ORER entry for the EJ&E cars
the 60400 to 60899 were 10'6" cars
60900 to 61399 were 10'0" cars
doors were of course all 8'0" wide

Morning Y'all,
This is my first official post here on the board. Glad to be aboard.
I have a huge library of period photos from the 1880-1915 period. Tank cars are my favorite! I have close to 5 dozen

Re: New Decal Availabile
Here is my effort in creating the 10’6 EJ&E car with 8’ door. I kit bashed it, as I did not have one of the sunshine mini kits. There was an article a few years back in RMC on modelling this car.

Steve,
Ed Hawkins did a better article in the July 1999 RMJ. Besides KCS, cars of this configuration were bought or home-built by the D&M and Erie, with MP and subsidiary MI, IC

Here is a photo from early 1942. In the background is a Santa Fe ice car (formerly in SFRD service) with ventilator hoods. The original photo is from the Library of Congress.

A.A. Morrison Railway Supply / International Car
I grew up in Buffalo and was aware of their operations in Ebenezer NY. During some recent research on Greenville Steel Car, it became apparent that Morrison used GSC to rebuild various batches of cars
