Re: Red Caboose NP reefer kitbash with CVMW roof
I pretty much went with what Andy described when I built my CV NP stock car. However, being a "good enough" model for my HO late 1956 era B&O Shenandoah Sub-division layout, I just narrowed the ends

Gents,
agree with that (fonts, size and thickness).

Re: Looking for car colors and road numbers (Tichy Flatcars)
The Airhose bracket on the SSW is rubber Hi-Techs and the DL&W is plastic Kadee with those crappy flimsy hoses replaced with black wire.
As for the deck, that is a strong point of the Tichys.

This sounds interesting and a way to salvage these beautiful looking paint jobs. Andy, when you say narrow the roof by 1/8", do you mean remove the running board and split the roof under the running

The problems with Tichy PFE decals far extend past their being too thick (you can feel the ink with your finger nail).
Tichy PFE decals have lettering that is the wrong size and shape - some too big,

Tichy ought to try producing decals for actual raised lettering applied to the prototype,
for example for steam locomotive smokebox number plates. Something about turning a pig
