Hi Paul,the roof consists of overlapping steel sheets, nothing more (no battens like the Accurail car has).
10 sheets of 3’5” and 2 of 3’-3 7/16"
This never changed.

The decals in my kit appear to be for earlier times, perhaps the 'as built' version. I, and perhaps Ron, would like a source for the the late 1950s Rock Island lettering style.
