I remember in the 1940's 50's Model Railroader magazine ran a series of scratch building "Dollar Models". One of them was a chlorine tank car.

Those who have Ed Kaminski's book on AC&F tank cars can see an advertisement with a drawing for a "one-ton" liquified-gas container on page 8, including a cutaway of the attachment point.

Actually, there is a contradiction between the two lists in the report. The first list shows HERX 10916. The second list shows HCRX 10916. All the other HERX cars are numbered in the 2000’s. HCRX

Here's one. Shipper would have been Frontier Chemical, which at the time was a division of Vulcan Materials, now Oxy (Occidental Chemicals).

When I lived out East during the 1980's there was a small water treatment plant in Lansdale PA that still received these cars. I believe that the cars were returned with empty canisters aboard. I

Sudan. PA
The topic of the P&WV derailment got me to look up Sudan, PA. I didn't get as far as trying to track down the location of this siding because the first thing I saw on the Google map was Narrow Gauge

The docs you supplied said that they were “R” and “E” so that would mean empty reefers. The P&W web page on AAR Marks (https://www.pwrr.org/rrm/rrmh.html) says:
