Re: Photo: C&O Hopper 127814 (1935)
The NMRA has some builder's photos, but searching is problematic as sometimes you have to wade through collections. Not easy to narrow searches and get good results.

Thanks for the fascinating historical details Bob. I have recently acquired the S scale kit and look forward to building it to correct details. Am I correct in interpreting your painting comments

Mark Rickert reminded me there was a multi-part series in RMC several years ago on these cars. Looking back through my notes I found these plus two other articles.

Thanks Ray.
DL&W is another 36’ boxcar still around in the mid-50s and might fit my layout operations better than the D&H since DL&W had an interchange with the PRR in Northumberland, PA. I

Heith,
Thanks for the CA photo. I got a copy of the UP/OSL/OW CA caboose drawing on Don Strack's website - took the pdf file to FedEx/Kinkos store & printed out on 36" wide paper - cost about $10.

We already have the term "Extreme Modeling", so maybe we need another term, like "Rabbit-hole Modeling", as in "it should be easy to take this plastic kit/car and tweak it a bit to make a nice
