Re: An unusual car - compressed gas
Agreed on the similarities to Helium tank cars. I can't help but wonder if the government didn't look to the Pintsch cars for inspiration.
Speaking of the three-tank helium cars, I'd like to find

That car looks like NJ lighterage to NY to me.
It's either going on a rail-barge or being transferred to a barge
Implements to Long Island?

Re: Help Identifying Unusual Boxcar (MoPac coke service?)
These sort of errors occur in my industry as well. I work for a hotel and occasionally we find a guest who wasn't paying attention and will book for Murray KENTUCKY instead of Murray UTAH.

Re: eBay Follies
Somewhat off topic, but "on another network" there is a thread called "More eBay Follies" which is approaching 400 pages in length...
In general, I think the overall defection from eBay by model

This topic reminds me of a story I heard from back in the steam era. The Louisville & Nashville tried to deliver two tank cars to an online consignee. The consignee had declared bankruptcy before

Tony:
Almost correct it was the 999 track, which only was located in the computer. As soon as the correct location for the car was identified the car was sent to that location.

There is such a place as White House Station, in (then) a rural part of New Jersey. I forget if it's on the CNJ or the Lehigh Valley.

The NJI&I being a local road to me, and a potential modeling interest, I can shed a little addition insight to the traffic. The agriculture implements were likely out of Oliver Farm Implements,

I remember former SP employee Paul Koehler telling me that at Taylor Yard in LA there was a "99" track where you put cars with problems such as missing paperwork. He remembered a depressed-center flat

Isn’t this discussion a month (actually 23 days) early???
Being so light, what would happen if it was run on a layout in a basement pressurized to avoid having to have the llally columns

Re: Rio Grande Oil Company HO decals special run
John, given how recently (for your modeling) the Rio Grande sale to Richfield occurred, you could certainly "patch" a Rio Grande Oil paint scheme for ROX reporting marks and number.
